Düsseldorf - Bonn 0:1, Düsseldorf - Köln 1:0 daraufhin Einzug ins Finale gegen Köln und dort sehr unglücklich 1:0 verloren :-( Revanche im Juli beim Deutschland Turnier. Bilder vom Training auf den Rheinwiesen in Düsseldorf gibt es hier.

Der Auftritt am Donnerstag lief trotz einiger technischer Probleme ganz gut. Der Raum war prächtig gefüllt und das Publikum wohl durch die Bierpreise grosszügig gestimmt :-). Vielleicht schreibt ja jemand der anwesend war, wie er die anderen Bands so fand. Ich fand die Brainbugs mit ihrem tighten Ska-Punk wie immer super. Unglaublich wie lang die spielen können :-)

Eine kleine Hilfe bei der Entscheidung zur Bundestagswahl und ein nettes Stück Unterhaltung bietet der grossartige Song der sich hier runterladen lässt. Es ist Der CDU Song von Udo Jürgens gesungen.
So meint auch die Junge Union Stadtverband Paderborn: “Dieser Song von Udo Jürgens stammt aus den Siebziger Jahren. Umso verblüffender, wie aktuell er wieder ist!”
Allerdings äusserte sich uns Udo im Jahr 2000 auf seiner hübschen Homepage kritisch zum Finanzgebahren der CDU:

Na wie ist das denn jetzt gemeint? Weil so ein Yeti immer gut fürs Sommerloch ist? Und damit gut für die Zeitungen im allgemeinen und die Bildzeitung im besondern? Und was macht die DEUTSCHE EINHEIT in dem Kontext? Ist das auch so ein Yeti? Hab ich was verpeilt oder die Werbeagentur?

Montag bin ich mit dem Zug nach Köln gefahren um meinen kleinen Bruder zu besuchen. Auf dem Weg hab ich dieses Photo gemacht. Scheints das die letzten der sichtbaren Telefonzellen abmontiert werden, um durch die Camouflage-Telefonspargel ersetzt zuwerden. Aber wer benutzt schon noch öffentliche Telefonzellen? Unterwegs hat eh jeder ein Mobiltelefon und selbst Ausländer die früher immer an den Telefonzellen standen um nach Hause zu telefonieren gehen jetzt wohl lieber in die billigeren Telefonshops in denen man übers Internet telefoniert. Und als Vandalismus- oder An-Pinkelobjekte bieten die Spargel wohl weniger Angriffsfläche.

Ansonsten: Ich hab die Cover für die CDs, die wir nächste Woche verkaufen wollen, abgeholt. Sehen schick aus, somit steht gut aussehenden CDs eigentlich nur noch mein handwerkliches Geschick entgegen, da ich sie ausschneiden muss :-| FUCK D.I.Y.

Weiter: Ich bin solide geworden! Während der ganzen Woche früh aufgestanden und mehr Sport getrieben. Nächste Woche Freitag steht im Fussball die Spitzenbegegnung Düsseldorf vs. Köln auf dem Spielplan. Es ist für uns natürlich Ehrensache, das falls wir die Kölner nicht im Fussball schlagen sollten (durch widrige Wetterbedingungen o.ä.), sie doch zumindest an der Theke auf den 2. Platz zu verweisen. Unser Training am Dienstag auf der Rheinwiese bot spielerisch schöne Szenen ;-) und brachte verheerenden Muskelkater auch für die Sportlicheren unter uns mit sich. Das sind wohl so Begleiterscheinungen des solide werden: 1) Muskelkater 2) Reden schwingen davon Leute an der Theke zu “schlagen”. Ich bin fast ganz unten angekommen … How low can you go today?

Dann: Mittwoch nur Arbeit, Donnerstag Arbeit und Muskelkater. IBM 80 GB Festplatten sind auf 101 Euro gefallen. Ich schreibe das mit dem festen Vorsatz über den Preis in 1-2 Jahren zu lachen/weinen. IBM gibt das Festplattengeschäft auf, bzw. hats an Hitachi verkauft. Puuuuuh.

My little brother aka Johnny die Fackel sent me some pix of himself doing some fire tricks today.

“Johnny die Fackel” (Johnny the torch) was what we shouted when we did dangerous fire stunts when were young(er) ;-) Like putting lighter fluid on our jeans, setting it on fire and running around screaming “look at me i’m johnny die fackel”.

You can shout at him by email. I think he needs money for gasoline, so i propose you hire him to set things on fire. He has always been more reckless than me :-)

I’ve been a bit of a handicraftsman yesterday. Not only did i clean my guitar case, i throw away all the crap that piled up inside of it, carefully cleaned the guitar and put on a whole set of new strings!
Afterwards i cleaned my bike. I had lost the key to my Kryptonite Lock some years ago and hadn’t been able to open it. On Sunday we tried a huge tonk (Bolzenschneider) but weren’t even able to scratch the material. Finally some minutes work with a Bosch Angle Grinder did break it. Now i know why kryptonite locks are the only ones accepted by NYC insurance companies for bikes. To me they seem virtually unbreakable. Anyway, now i can use my bike again ;-) I drove some kilometers with it yesterday and i really enjoyed myself.

I did some shots of our (that’s my band Gatecrash’s) rehearsal room and assembled them into a 360 panorama. You can have a look at it here as a jpg or here as a quicktime vr movie. The quicktime looks way better i think, but you’ll need the quicktime-plugin to watch it, of course.

You can see Martin singing and playing the bass guitar, Patrick on drums and yours truly on guitar, posing in front of a fitted kitchen/ Einbauküche. The room is in the cellar of a primary school.

For those who dont know:
1) The two players on the poster are fighting each other and not player together.

2) At least on of them is accused of antisemitism which is a form of racism. That put in context to the slogan beneath the picture “Germany playing in first line” …

The Demo on Saturday was a great success i think. More than 18.000 students from the universities of Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen, Köln and Bochum among others came.

This Tram won’t leave to University soon … :)

We went to the Schauspielhaus today to watch the play Tattoo by Rejane Desvignes and Igor Bauersima. It’s about selling-out, friendship and art. Bitter in its meaning but light-hearted in its approach. A funny and entertaining satire and well worth watching. Normal price is 29 euro, but with students reduction it is only 7 euro, so it’s cheaper than going to the movies.

Tomorrow at 13:30 there is demonstration against studying fees starting at the main station. I hope that a lot of people will come.

Dee Dee Ramone died today at the age of 50. I recommend listening to “Death of me”, “I wanna live”, “Strength to endure”, “This business is killing me”, “Pet cementary” and “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”. In fact dont listen to the “too tough to die” album, it’s not one of their best. Anyway, who needs a reason to listen to the Ramones? Did i mention they are my favorite band? If i had to choose what album i would take to that famous desert island … i would have a hard time choosing between Ramones - Ramones, Ramones - Rocket to Russia and Ramones - Leave Home.

I finished reading the Illuminati Trilogy (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3) a few days ago. Not one of the greatest books of all time but funny and interesting nonetheless. Unorthodox in nearly every aspect. Worth a read if you can stand reading through the first like 200 pages.

The cards above are from the Illuminati cardgame called “Illuminati - The New World Order”. They were scanned by Marco. It is now out of print for some time.
